Sir Samuel Griffith

Sir Samuel Walker Griffith (1845–1920) was an Australian politician, barrister, and judge who served as the inaugural Chief Justice of Australia (1903–1919). He was born in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, but later moved to Queensland. Griffith was also one of the framers of the Australian Constitution and played a significant role in drafting the document.

Dame Quentin Bryce

Dame Quentin Bryce (born 1942) is an Australian academic and politician who served as the 25th Governor-General of Australia from 2008 to 2014. She was the first woman to hold the position. Bryce was born in Brisbane, Queensland, and though not specifically from the region of Murweh, she has been associated with the area and has advocated for its development.

Walter Raleigh Hall

Walter Raleigh Hall (1881–1962) was an Australian artist known for his work depicting the landscapes and people of Queensland. He was born in Quilpie, a town within the Murweh region. Hall's art is widely recognized for capturing the unique beauty and essence of the Australian outback.

Emily Seebohm

Emily Seebohm (born 1992) is an Australian swimmer and Olympic medalist. She specializes in backstroke events and has represented Australia in numerous international competitions. Seebohm, born in Brisbane, has achieved great success in her swimming career and has set multiple records.

Hayden Quinn

Hayden Quinn (born 1986) is an Australian television personality and chef. He gained fame through his appearance on the reality cooking show "MasterChef Australia" in 2011. Quinn, who grew up in the coastal town of Ayr near Murweh, has since become a renowned chef and has hosted several cooking shows.

Barry Maranta

Barry Maranta is an Australian businessman and former owner of the Brisbane Broncos, a professional rugby league team in the National Rugby League (NRL). Maranta was born in Mitchell, within the Murweh region. He played a crucial role in the establishment and success of the Brisbane Broncos.
